What would it take for your family to recover from a decade-long civil war?
What if the struggle of your recovery was compounded by an Ebola epidemic, a mudslide, poor healthcare and education infrastructure?
You’d likely find your long term goals cast aside, replaced with the struggle of simply surviving to the next day, unable to dedicate time to develop the talents and skills you know you’re capable of.
Unfortunately, this is a reality for the people of Sierra Leone, especially women and children. However, we are actively working to change this
-Housing
-3 meals a day
-Emergency resource pantry for supplies that are not easily
accessible, namely hygiene and sanitation products
-Clothing/shoes donations
-Structured study space after school hours
-Tutoring after school hours
-School supply provision (Books, writing utensils, rulers, paper,
etc)
-Programs for promotion literacy and education in the community
-Specialized trainings and vocation sessions in the village with mentors, programs and leaders in various fields, especially farming/ gardening and small business ownership
-Rehabilitation
-Coping and life skills training
-Motivation and empowerment training
-Training of paraprofessional, social, and community services
workers
-Mentorship Training
